Off-Stage Essentials: Bookings, Festivals, and Business

Monday, June 22nd from 7-8pm
This class looks at the "off-stage" work that keeps you booked and organized.
-How to professionally reach out to producers and properly fill out applications to make your submission stand out
-Bio, promo photos, audition videos, and social media
-Knowing what to look for when applying to shows
-Considerations to modify your performances for different environments, such as floor shows vs. elevated stage shows
-Festivals: dive into what festivals are, how they differ from standard shows, the pros and cons, financial considerations, trip planning, and getting the most out of a festival experience
-keeping track of your acts and applications
-logging your income and expenses, including common tax write-off considerations for performers

Feel free to bring a notebook and pen to take notes. Powerpoint presentation will be emailed out to keep for review after class.
