Behind The Curtain: What Goes Into A Show

Monday, September 14th from 7-8pm
Go beyond the stage lights to discover the heavy lifting required to make a show happen. This course is designed for performers who want to better understand the "big picture," and for those interested in all the things that go into production. By exploring the full scope of a show roles and responsibilities, students will gain a deeper respect for the craft and a clearer understanding of the industry from the other side of the curtain.
-Roles and responsibilities: producer, performer, stage kitten, tech, front of house
-Applications and casting
-Venue considerations and adapting to different spaces
-Marketing and promotion
-Budgeting and financial
-Show curation and the audience experience
-Safety and ethics
-Logistic requirements
-Consideration and risk that goes into building a show
-How shows may differ with different producers
-Post-show needs

Feel free to bring a notebook and pen/pencil. The powerpoint presentation will be sent out after the show to keep for review.
